Suite101 speaks to American Idol alum Brooke White about her latest project “Jack and White,” where she forms a duo with Jack Matranga. White opens up about their upcoming new six-track EP entitled Gemini which will be released on her own indie label, June Baby Records, on August 30, 2011.

White Talks About Working with Duo Partner Jack Matranga

On working with Jack Matranga, “it is effortless,” White laughs.

“It’s easier than it should be. It’s an amazing collaboration. I love co-writing, and I tend to prefer to collaborate, other than to work solo. When we’re writing, the inspiration is just there. I’m really happy to blend in this situation and be making some really great music. This project was a very balanced partnership, and we recorded it completely independently. We played all of the instruments, with the exception of drums and we had somebody master it; other than that, we created everything from the ground up.”
