With special Christmas events such as Winter Wonderland at the Navy Pier, and the lights festival on the Magnificent Mile, Chicago attracts a number of tourists during the holiday season. Many of these travelers lodge in the downtown area and are in town on Christmas day.
Although being out of town for the holiday can be quite exciting, one problem is that most restaurants and shops close on Christmas day making it difficult to find someplace to dine. Fortunately however, a few restaurants in downtown Chicago appeal to the tourist by remaining open. Many even offer a special Christmas buffet along with entertainment.
